Message There are two components to electricity prices, supply charge and delivery charge. The here in NYC the delivery charge alone is about 10c/kwh and the supply charge ranges from 12c to 18c /kwh, add them up and thats 22c to 28c /KWH

You're also thinking about this mathematically and ignoring all the other practical angles such as...

If electricity demand increases for transportation what happens to the Grid and prices?

How can I take my family on a long trip in an electric car? You can't there are no recharging station anywhere? and if there is what will the price be? Probably very high.

The electric car has some practicality in large cities but that's also where electricity costs the most.

How will your heat or cool an electric car in the winter / summer, while stuck in traffic? Do you know how much energy electric heat / AC takes? The amount far exceeds the most optimistic battery technology and the weight of all batteries spikes the diminishing return curve.

I'm betting the Chevy Volt is a long way off.
